Infidelity Answered
By Rev. John B. Robinson, A.M.
Published in the year +1,875 Gregorian Calendar

One can easily believe that Rev Robinson was a raving psychotic, judging only by this book. Throughout this book, the author (who, on the title page called himself "Father-god") wrote a massive amout of special pleading, false analogies, absurd parodies of science and reason and evolutionary theory, and arguments based upon his person incredulity: his chief argument was that since he personally could not think of how something happened, the Christian gods therefore made it happen.

One will find it striking that his arguments, written in the year 1875, are still being used by Creationists 131 years later even though those arguments have been shown, perhaps thousands of times by hundreds of people, to be false.

The author apparently believed that Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" had "5 uncertainties" on every single page which he compounded by 437 pages to calculate a "probability" that Darwin's book is correct: since his probability was so tiny a number (which he said is half of 10^437), therefore one should dismiss evolution and Darwin's theory. That argument is absurd--- even if there were 10,000 each of errors, mistakes, impossibilities, and improbabilities on every page, that would say nothing at all, either way, about the fact that evolution occured and occurs.

Rev. Robinson also apparently believed that one must be an atheist to accept the fact that evolution occured and occurs; that is an absurd belief, and was known to be false even in his own time (many Christian clergy at the time urged their peers to acknowledge the fact that evolution had occured--- see my "Evolution" page for two such clergy members' opinions on the matter).
